I think this is the first time I've seen a Sparrowhawk with a Rabbit as prey, presumably a tired migrant as she let me sit <10m away as she tucked in!

Female accipiters moult on the nest whilst incubating, this photo illustrates the size difference between Goshawk and Sparrowhawk, both are secondary feathers

It's a shot which is technically very poor BUT it's a record of the moment a Sparrowhawk 'hits' a big fat woodpigeon - caught on wildlife cam!
[wings are the sparrowhawk] - sparrowhawk flew off, maybe the pigeon was too big!!

His name was Connor Sparrowhawk, he loved London Buses, mermaids and his family, and he had good ideas about his future… I really would have loved to have met you, Connor. But I also guess I did, in some weird and magical way - in the darkness. Strange… Wonderful… Cool.

Just seen ⁦Stephen Unwin⁩ ‘s excellent play Jermyn Street Theatre⁩. I’m reviewing for ⁦Synapsis⁩, but for now, let me say: Connor Sparrowhawk, I will think of you, of your birth & needless death in the bath, every time I see a bus 🚌
