Great to hear this male Red-backed Shrike singing last night at St Abbs Head. Mimicry included Sedge Warbler, Swallow, Linnet and Blue Tit. Caught a caterpillar and a small beetle - crackin birds to watch!!!!! 🔥

The first Speckled Wood (Pararge aegeria) of the year was spotted at NMCC last week.

It's one of many species supported by our low-mow regime. We've got plenty of Yorkshire-fog grass across the site, providing potential caterpillar food 🐛
