Quick visit to patch this evening. Yesterday’s Avocet didn’t stick around. However, lots of Sand Martins and Swallows hawking over RSPB WOW and my visit was capped off by picking up my first Swifts of the year. NI Birds #PWC2024

A beautiful day for Hill Rota in the North. Also good birding! Pied Flycatcher, Black-tailed Godwit and Green Sandpiper were new for my #PWC2024 , Ring Ouzels and Tree Pipits, Redstart & Short-eared Owl were good too. 36 Brambling (📷), Mealy Redpoll & Reed Bunting in the garden.

Quality over quantity this morning at Collingwood Monument, with hooded crow, blackwit and short-eared owl (all scarce here) heading north but not a great deal else. The godwit was (just about) close enough for a record shot, sadly the others were beyond camera range. #PWC2024

Patch gold this evening. The wet field opposite the house has been attracting lots of migrant alba wagtails. This evening it hosted its 1st Yellow Wagtail & my 1st of the year #pwc2024

The black kite spent much of yesterday afternoon following a tractor ploughing fields behind Kitty Down, regularly passing over my work nearby to have a good look at what I was up to!
