It's been a highly constructive few days for the plenary in strengthening ties and scoping opportunities to boost tourism across BIPA jurisdictions.

DPO Annabelle Ewing will take on co-chairing duties at the 66th plenary of British-Irish Parliamentary Assembly in Wicklow later this afternoon. With a focus on tourism, Assembly members will hear from a variety of speakers including new Taoiseach Simon Harris TD . #BIPA

Celebrating the success of the cross party campaign to restore the funding cut to finish refurbishment of Grantown Health Centre.

A busy few days in New York with Evelyn Tweed MSP Maurice Golden Michael Marra MSP including meetings with Carnegie Corporation of New York and with NYC Civic Engagement Commission. Lots of interesting discussions about democratic engagement and trying to encourage participation.

A wonderful Tartan Day Parade, led by Grand Marshal Dougray Scott, highlighting the cultural and historical ties between the people of Scotland and those of the US, Canada and beyond.

Great to see so many thousands out in New York today celebrating our shared heritage.

A warm (albeit rainy) welcome to Ermonela Valikaj, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Albania 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇱 to Scottish Parliament, who this morning met with DPO Annabelle Ewing. Topics discussed included parliamentary procedure, gender representation in our parliaments and public participation.

We have lost a good friend & nationalist, Gerry Fisher - who gave unstinting support to Winnie when she was elected in 67 & he headed London branch. For the last decades, he became the conscience of the party, speaking out fearlessly for what he believed till the end.
