Today's Sunday Express (Daily Express) has an article about eight cross party MPs, including Sir Peter Bottomley MP, Father of the House, demanding action by GOV.UK before the Summer recess. Pressure at this senior level must surely compel the Government to act without delay?

This is ZVA. We believe it's probably female but the weight measured during this morning's ringing wasn't high enough to remove all doubt.

Sedge Warbler BFC9004 was recaught Wintersett on 5th May 2024, it was ringed the day before in Reculver, Kent. That's a phenomenal move of 306km in less than 24hrs. The flight was powered by a loss of 1.2g of fat!

Great to see our Tree sparrows having a really productive 1st brood, this hungry lot was most of a brood of 5. currently across the reserve over 40 pairs estimated. Most of it down to a good supply of insects this year and no freezing cold May! Humber Nature Partnership

EMPTY LEDGES. First visit to North Sutor colony revealed the extreme impact bird flu, storms and rising sea temps have had on seabirds. Cormorants down by 36% to only 86 nests, shags by 60% to 60 nests and Guillemots down by a massive 83% on last year.
