Aircrew from two Mailly-le-Camp Raid (Milk Run) Lancaster bombers that fell to enemy fire are buried in Trouans Churchyard. 🇫🇷

They have been commemorated by members of the RAF, alongside French Dignitaries & local community members on the 80th anniversary.

In 1965, #OnThisDay , the first official air display of the Red Arrows took place at RAF Little Rissington for the press. The first public air display was staged on 9th May, in France.

The Red Arrows have now performed nearly 5000 public displays.

80 years ago, on 3-4 May, 346 Lancaster bombers & 14 de Havilland Mosquitos from RAF Bomber Command attacked German forces garrisoned near the French town of Mailly-le-Camp. 🇫🇷

The victory was part of the preparation for the 6 June D-Day invasion.

3 RAF Typhoons have arrived in Finland to support Exercise Swift Response in Estonia. 50 RAF personnel deployed from Romania to Tikkakoski Air Base as part of NATO's exercise #SteadfastDefender24 .

A RAF Poseidon was diverted from an ACE exercise on Thursday 25th April for a Search & Rescue mission over the Firth of Clyde, after being tasked by HM Coastguard.

It located survivors of a fishing vessel & provided overwatch of the life raft while the RNLI rescued the crew.

A RAF Brize Norton Atlas carried out another vital air drop of aid to the people who need it in Gaza.

The operational drop consisted of 12 bundles of halal meals, water, flour, rice, tinned food &sweets. Air despatchers carefully launched 12177kgs of aid, with all landing safely.

Reserve pilots take to the skies as the Royal Auxiliary Air Force marks 100 years. 💯

47 Air Despatch Squadron, of The Royal Logistic Corps delivered 12,000 Kg of aid from a Royal Air Force A400M from RAF Brize Norton ✈️

During a recent routine Operation Shader patrol, 2 Royal Air Force Typhoons identified rockets being launched in Iraq against coalition forces.
 
To defend against this attack, our aircraft successfully used a Paveway IV precision-guided bomb to destroy the rocket launcher system.
