Aviemore to Grantown on Spey this morning. I found myself a couple of packrafting buddies. Both voles climbed up my grab rope and into my raft. I paddled to shore and lifted them back out onto the bank.

A spectacular morning on the today.

It's great to see the blossoms coming out and the riverbank bursting into life.🌸

Feeling very fortunate to work in this special place!πŸ₯°

The start of a 123km journey down from Kingussie to the sea at Spey Bay on Friday. Higher water: marshes holding excess water. In other places it was evident that the water levels were above the norm. Alpacka Raft

A beautiful cock salmon caught this morning on the Abernethy stretch of the Spey. My first salmon and my first fish on a spinner. Diabolical weather - heavy cold rain, high winds and low temp - nearly stopped play but perseverance paid off
