The first new addition to our flying flock of Hebridean Sheep was born today. She will help with habitat management at nature reserves in North Yorkshire.

The Newt Pond at Nosterfield Quarry Nosterfield Nature Reserve with an abundance of stoneworts in the clear, calcareous water. These complex algae provide important habitat for aquatic invertebrates, and some beetles of the genus Haliplus are specialist feeders on stoneworts.
