Pleased to relocate the Bonaparteโ€™s gull at Holmebridge bringing it onto the Purbeck patch & that St Aldhelms Birder & Rob Johnson arrived before it flew upstream with the fragmenting BH flock. Dorset Bird Club birdsofpooleharbour

Nice fresh looking Speckled Wood and Red Admiral at Durlston, Swanage today. Our transect count however was still quite low - just 21 butterflies in a walk of 2.5 miles taking 90 minutes. Red Kite are barely newsworthy in much of the country and their status is heading that way in Dorset now. Still fabulous to watch 4 birds at Rodden Hive this morning though, including this bird picking up food from one of the fields.

The Sun was out and so were the Sand Lizards. Enjoying basking in it, aren't we all? Think the female may be pregnant, she was very plump.
