This is a growing trend in North America that I reported on in my book. I was struck by how unions I reached out to refused to even discuss it--why? And has anyone seen any reports or anything to indicate growing awareness/concern about it more widely?

Cuts & bruises from restraints, assaults, bathing in toxic water, criminally charged staff...one girl ate three screws in hopes of getting emergency transferred out. This 2023 report on an NV child psychiatric facility just won an award from IRE and NICAR

In disability as in aged care, providers are violating their duty of care with impunity because we've allowed the private sector to profit off the misery of our most vulnerable, aided by their thoroughly ineffectual regulators.

This is profound and at last we hear the truth from a brave doctor. I remember my parents - intelligent pple who never ever questioned or challenged a Drs view. Ours and subsequent generation are different. We require relationship centred evidence based care.

“We should not play with patients’ lives.”

Devastating comments on Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England & GMC’s willingness to let non-doctors - physician associates - perform potentially life-threatening surgeries.

This is a national scandal.

A patient safety debacle.

Just appalling.

Too typical: News story promotes expanding forced treatment, using wild untruths. eg 'Oregon has less than 50 civil beds' for involuntary patients. Riiiight--yet somehow the state detains thousands annually! Awaiting correction Evan Watson KGW News kgw.com/article/news/i…

New Brunswick pushing forced interventions against drug users. What's most striking is the blithe way the govt suggests they may also use a special clause in Canada's constitution/Charter of Rights to forbid court challenges. So prejudiced & draconian.

Much like exercise, I find emotional exertion (excitement, anxiety, grief) also burns through and renders my Parkinson’s medication almost useless. Anyone else experience this?

In a first, researchers have found microplastics in arterial plaque and correlated their presence with an increased risk for cardiovascular events like heart attack and stroke.

One great way to cut microplastic exposure is to avoid plastic tea bags.  healthline.com/health-news/mi…
