I spent time at Wixoe Pumping station yesterday to see work to refurb and improve efficiency. This is part of 1800 assets diverting freshwater (before it goes out to sea) from Denver, 150km to Essex. Benefiting 1.4million people 40,000 businesses and the Environment.

The almost half mile walk of the demountable defences.
Very impressive amount of dedicated work from the Env Agency Midlands operations to install & watch over 24/7 while up.

It’s not always glorious weather when out checking boreholes. But you can bet the further you walk the worse the weather will be. Borehole visit to Newington along with support WLB assets to locate mothballed sites and where they are.

Communication is key! Great to get colleagues from who work on the river Crane together yesterday. Saw the excellent Little Park project and updated each other on what the different teams have been up to. Thanks to FORCE and Steve/Adrian for guiding us round.

Clear waterways are crucial to keep water flowing and flooding at bay.

headed to the Barge Canal in Romsey to remove fallen trees that were obstructing the canal.

Cracking day with the EA London Lea Working Group. Gathering people from across the area to talk all things Lea. Thanks to Blue Green Enfield for giving us a tour of the stunning Albany Park restoration site. Some great connections made to improve our internal communications.
