Feeling very smug that the best weather day this year was spent on the beautiful Skomer Island (or Puffin Rock if you are a parent of a toddler) #skomerisland #westwales
A really brilliant day on Skomer Island today on a 1-to-1 guided trip with Paul. Everything fell into place: the weather, the birds, and great company. Loved it! Checklist and more photos here: ebird.org/checklist/S172…
Puffins are just so very cute. An amazing weekend Skomer Island - with the 42,000 odd little scamps.
A visit to Skomer earlier in the week. The weather was foul, but tried to make the most of it and was rewarded with some images I am pleased with - including this one.
I'm almost certain Puffins know they're being photographed and know how to pose.

Even in the dreary weather, the puffin and the landscapes beauty still shines through ❤️

West Coast Birdwatching Ian Beggs Skomer Island Skokholm Island Haha I’m doing exactly the same on Lundy. Haven’t found any yet Beggsy! but did spot this beauty today.
Ian Beggs has me hooked. Instead of marvelling at Skomer Island's magnificent seabirds & landscapes, I spend a rare solo tour of the island looking at Wheatear legs!! 4 ringed birds: read 3 of them (males D90 & F07, & fem H69). Great Black-backed W:162 also from Skokholm Island.
Fab views of Chough before heading over to Skomer Island . About 25 on the south side of Deer Park Head yesterday am. Plenty of Wheatear passing through with 14+ in the field by the NT car park.
Ian hunter We were on Skomer Island the other day for a round of puffin shooting....with a long lens that is. Thankfully they obliged and made the trip worthwhile. Even the weather was decent. Well worth a visit if you're a Tweeter that likes to twitcher:

Sad to see this Puffin on Skomer Island collected plastic for its burrow. A reminder we all need to be careful with all plastics we use every day.
