Phone rang at 4am, can I go to Cutsyke signalbox instead of working Leeds from York route ops centre (ROC) because 2 signallers have phoned in ill and there's only me left who can work it, so I've gone from 21st century to 1980s signalling.

August 1923: A mirror helps the signalman looking down the old Great Eastern line from Stratford Central station. The view from the signalbox was obscured by the waiting room roof and chimney stacks.

On March 9th, the Nene Valley Railway unveiled a plaque for their now restored Orton Mere signalbox that was torched by arsonists in 2023.
Thomas was there to take passengers to the ceremony and he too was happy with the event.

Giving Woking platfrm 1 some love this evening dealing with a cyclic top (the rail has settled into a wave pattern).

The grey building overlooking the station is the signalbox which has superseded the art deco one at the country end of the station

Kilmore East new lit diagram in the signalbox. Things to note: up and down block orange indicators (both sides). Presumably they are lit when a train is in that section. Also the boxes on top, either side seem to be up/down audible indicators for trains approaching.

Still going strong is the Tyer Token machine at Mauchline Signalbox for the single line between Mauchline & Annbank / Newton Junction.
