How typically English is this - winter sunshine on sheep near St James’ Church at Shipton, in the Corvedale. I was driving past and just had to stop when I spotted that it was feeding time. Appropriately, it is thought that the name Shipton means ‘sheep farm’. #Shropshire

A magical morning in the Corvedale, with the skeletal shapes of trees rising above the mist. I spotted this scene near Much Wenlock while driving along the Craven Arms road. I wedged the car in what must be the narrowest lay-by in  #Shropshire  and managed to get this shot.

The choir motet today was Maurice Bevan's anthem version of his 'Corvedale' set to the words 'There's a Wideness in God's Mercy' and not forgetting that soaring descant at the end. Bevan sang in the choir of St. Paul's Cathedral for many years, my father sang alongside him.

A beautiful spring day in the Corvedale, full of sunshine, birdsong and the bleating of sheep. The early-morning light was magical for this view across the gardens of Shipton Hall towards St James’ Church, which dates from the 12th century. #Shropshire bit.ly/2wrY5i4
