#QutubMinar , built from 1192 to 1220, was started by Qutb-ud-din Aibak of Mamluk dynasty & founder of Delhi Sultanate. His successor & son-in-law Sultan Iltutmish added 3 stories.

Quwwat-ul-Islam “glory of 1slam” was achieved by demolishing 27 Hindu & Jain temples & building #Qutubminar “ tower of victory” by debris of those temples.
#QutubMinar is all decked up for #G20Summit . This is among the oldest Indo-Islamic monuments in #Delhi and surrounding regions.
For centuries, this minar, part of Quwwatul Islam mosque, was the tallest structure not just in Delhi but also north India.
