To celebrate, here’s a little history about us: in the 9 years we’ve been around, we’ve connected with local farmers, set up 15 collection points, reached nearly 400 members and brought organic veg to all you wonderful people! And we 💚 it.

To celebrate #LocalandCommunityHistoryMonth , we want to reflect on the history of our home. Built in 1910, this beautiful Grade II listed building proudly served #Sheffield for over 90 years as the city’s General Post Office and quickly became an important city landmark.
#OnThisDay in 1915 John McCrae wrote the poem ‘In Flanders Fields’. This large bronze plaque was made in memory of Frederick Ernest Crick of Thetford. He died in September 1918 having served in Flanders and the Dardanelles.

Did you know #Hackney Henge is constructed from the ruins of the grand Victoria Engine House (marked blue on the map), which helped pump clean water from the filter beds to #local reservoirs?

This neatly annotated 1823 plan is one of the smallest in our collection, measuring only 17 x 16 cm. It shows land adjoining King Street, in Belper (coloured green) bought by Jedediah Strutt II from William Slater.
