A little more than a month ago, I started researching on Japanese lit available in Indian translations & stumbled upon some stunning works in Bengali, Malayalam and Marathi by esteemed translators like Prof Abhijit Mukherjee (JU), Prof PA George (JNU), Prof Nissim Bedekar (EFLU).
