I've been a Londoner long enough to recall 1980s days of flood siren tests, tube stations at risk and water regularly overflowing onto the embankment. So happy 40th to the Thames barrier. New artwork for a great Financial Times piece on its future by gillplimmer and Attracta Mooney

New artwork by me working with the Financial Times's excellent visual storytelling team: How smart use of sea drones has pushed Moscow’s warships to newly protected bases in the east and enabled trade from key ports to return to pre-war levels.

A really lovely evening meeting up with old friends at the RAF Club with lots of beers and laughs. For those fans of aviation art, the huge canvases in the background are both by Frank Wootton including ‘Peenemunde’ on the right, possibly my favourite single piece of aviation art

Issue 47 of TheAviationHistorian 🇬🇧 🇺🇦 is out today, Apr 15, and includes a new set of artworks by me taking a deep dive into the components and operation of the Lewis Gun. The illustrations accompany a great article by Mark Russell about the history of the weapon in RAF usage

For 76 years the GPO moved mail under London on electric, driverless trains. You can ride on a preserved section of Mail Rail The Postal Museum and this my illustration of the boarding platform, the opening artwork from my Financial Times piece about the museum ft.com/content/1ff4c9…

I’ve written and illustrated another London museum walk for FT Globetrotter, the Financial Times’ guide to cities. This time it’s the Postal Museum so, as well as the walk, it covers a ride on a stretch of the extraordinary underground Mail Rail ft.com/content/1ff4c9… via @ft

Giclées! We’ve talked about marketing prints of my huge back catalogue of work for years and, spurred on by Steven Bernard, we’ve finally taken the first steps, getting tests printed at different sizes and on different papers to see how they look. It’s early days but watch this space

A work colleague asked me to show him how to make a Sankey chart so I created this template for him to explain how they work

If I was younger (and didn't like the job I have now) I'd apply for this post in a heartbeat. Seeing artist with illustration skills as the top requirement on the necessary skills is really brilliant. Good luck if you go for it
