Brilliant day with the N Worcs Flora group leading a botany survey behind St Leonards Church - 116 plant species recorded, including some interesting finds! 🌱🌼

Followed by all sorts of beetles, spiders and more found on the bug hunt! 🪲🐝🐞🐛🕷

A fantastic evening of bat detecting and moth trapping behind St Leonards Church last night! 🦇⛪️

Common & Soprano Pipistrelles and Noctule bats detected, plus about 40 moth species! 🥳 Huge thanks to Patrick from West Midlands Butterfly Conservation and Sally from Birmingham & Black Country Wildlife Trust for leading & all who joined!

An incredible day Fair Isle Bird Obs yesterday was all about the Red-backed Shrikes, with a conservative count of 32(!) scattered across the isle, with birds hunting on every fenceline, singing in the gardens, sheltering on the beaches and geos, and even groups out on the open heather 🤯

We understand the Council have served notice on the travellers currently occupying the park and they must leave by Mon. Hopefully, they leave the site in a good state. We’ll be liaising further with Parks to see whether the access point can be closed off to future excursions.
