We must never forget the role student organizers played in the Civil Rights Movement and in ending apartheid in South Africa.

Today, our students are organizing against the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. We must stand with them on the right side of history.

It’s incredibly disturbing that my colleagues are so quick to denounce these student protesters but are silent about what these young people are actually protesting.

There are no universities left in Gaza.

Union Theological Seminary, led by Dr. Serene Jones, works w/ a different moral compass than does Columbia University & Barnard College - UTS has repudiated calling the NYPD on students, has distanced itself from war profits & has created space for complex engagement w/ the aftermath 10/7.

It is such bad form for a professor to insult their students like this. I've been a professor 30+ years, and I both teach and learn from my students. BTW, Columbia University's students didn't protest Hillary Clinton bec they're ignorant but bec they have a reasoned disagreement with her.
