Great day in the Brecks, lots to see as always, including a family party of Crossbill, lots of Tree Pipits and Woodlark, a single Spotted Flycatcher and a few butterflies including this Green Hairstreak! Also a suprise Nightjar was heard churring briefly at 4.30!

Interesting find from Hockering Wood, Norfolk, spotted by Jeremy Bartlett. Pretty sure this is Breckland Leatherbug (Arenocoris waltlii). Found on low vegetation on a wide ride in the wood (ancient woodland, SSSI). Tristan Bantock

Dickleburgh Moor - wetland basin even wetter lately, its pastures overswollen with nutrient-rich water - hosting joint Otter Trust/Norfolk and Norwich Naturalists’ Society outing. A stunning flock of 13+ Black Tern interwoven with Coot Lapwing Shoveller Gadwall Pochard Little Grebe - then a passing Hobby.
