Jeremy managed to find and photograph this lovely Conops vesicularis in the churchyard at Hockering, Norfolk (Hornet seen on the edge of the nearby wood).

The weather was kind to the delegates that booked onto the weekend’s Spider Identification Course Banham Zoo organised by BAS together with Norfolk and Norwich Naturalists’ Society
& led by Richard Gallon Cofnod
It covered a wide variety of topics including survey methods & microscope ID

Triungulins of Black Oil Beetle today, on a blade of Wood False Brome near the office. Adults have all gone now.

Great day in the Brecks, lots to see as always, including a family party of Crossbill, lots of Tree Pipits and Woodlark, a single Spotted Flycatcher and a few butterflies including this Green Hairstreak! Also a suprise Nightjar was heard churring briefly at 4.30!
