These troopers were recognized this evening at the 2024 MADD “Heroes for Heroes” awards banquet for their excellent work in removing Intoxicated drivers from Missouri roadways. This group made 473 DWI arrest this past year. #MADD

A few afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be possible however, strong storms will be possible tonight across eastern Kansas and western Missouri. The main threats will be for wind gusts to 50 mph and small hail. Another round of strong storms are expected again tomorrow.

In honor of National Police Week, members of Troop C and MSHP General HQ visited the grave sites of troopers who were killed In the line of duty. It’s an honor to pay our respects to these fallen officers, and hopefully their families know they will never be forgotten.

Tomorrow, in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Week, all U.S. and Missouri flags will be flown at half staff across the state. We honor our fallen heroes, and their families, for their selfless service to our state and nation. To all our men and women in blue, we say thank you!

Officer Jim Muhlbauer's name is now on the wall of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C.

Muhlbauer is one of 24,067 officers on the wall, all of whom died in the line of duty.

The engraving was recently finished and dedicated this week.

At a memorial service this morning, we remembered and recognized the officers who lost their lives in the line of duty at KCPD.

There are 120 of them. All of these officers made the ultimate sacrifice while serving Kansas City.
