This year we are encouraging support to local public libraries! They are under immense pressure these days! We have given a donation in honour of #PuppyBookClub to our local library! Please support yours by joining, participating in programs, or donating if you can! 11/12

I hope you enjoyed all of today's celebrations of #PuppyBookClub ! Every year we try to do something meaningful that can make a difference! In the past, we gave gifts of books to children, supported Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, and Ottawa's reading buddies program! 10/12

I want to end with 'The End' the last poem in 'Now We Are Six' and my pinned tweet on my account! I loves this one immensely! For me, it is an innocent defiance to growing up! It's knowing you know enough to be ok just staying six! 9/12

I had posted this today at the conference, but I'm reposting 'Forgiven' here because the tale of Alexander Beetle is so well known and well loved! It requires no explanation! Enjoy! 8/12

'Waiting at the Window' is about 2 raindrops in race! Such a great piece of poetry reflecting the world through the eyes of a child! The noticing of this occurrence, personification of the raindrops, and imaginative viewpoint is truly childhood perfectly captured! 7/12

These two poems 'Us Two' and 'The Friend' speak directly to the lovely bond between Christopher Robin and Winnie-the-Pooh! They both reflect the sweetness of this relationship, not unlike the bond many children find in a special stuffie! Charming and insightful! 6/12

Now, onto 'Now We Are Six', published in 1927, and if I was forced to choose, probably my favorite of the two poetry books! Here's the hilarious, brilliant 'Sneezles', a laugh riot to read! Incredibly creative and way ahead of its time for children's literature! 5/12

Next is a funny poem called 'Disobedience' although some feel it's a bit sad! I choose to view it whimsically, with humour! My Mom loves reading this poem as the rhyme has a wonderful rhythm to it! It flows so easily through each verse! ('Commonly known as Jim' 🤭) 4/12

We start with poems from 'When We Were Very Young,' first published in 1924! Our first poem, 'The Mirror,' is so eloquent and beautiful! Such a peaceful poem! The next selection is 'Halfway Down,' and I think it is all about being in the moment, in a perfectly lovely spot! 3/12

Today, you heard about my love for A. A. Milne and his original Winnie-the-Pooh collection! Tonight, we look at selected poems from 'When We Were Very Young' and 'Now We Are Six'! These are such fun, and I can think of no better works to showcase on our 5th Anniversary! 2/12
