You conclude psychotic depression was accurate diagnosis; neither of us know for sure, but facts of case indicate it was more complex and involved personality.

Osheroff found himself back in analysis later in life, dissatisfied with drug therapy. Of course, he could have simply fired his doctors at Chestnut Lodge and sought help elsewhere, but instead he decided to sue them. One cannot help but speculate about personality pathology.
