Lovely afternoon practising courtroom skills with our second year Forensic Science students. Our students are far more accomplished in public speaking than I was at their age.

Teaching cognitive bias today, including the importance of making notes to avoid reconstructive bias - this involved trying to remember all the things I had for brunch, without making notes, an hour after seeing this image. Possibly a little unfair, far too many brunch items.

I have ridiculously enjoyed asking our first year cohort anonymously how they are at the start of lectures this semester, the answers have been fantastic - this weeks highlight 'Feeling as dry as an overdone chicken nugget'........

Each time I see our first year students in a lecture, I ask them annoymously how they are. There is one student whose replies are genius, today they felt 'Like the little piece of foil that won't tear away from the yoghurt pot'

Ran a 'down the microscope' image competition with the first year students during their microscope lab session, the three winning images are amazing

What better way to start a long teaching Friday than with a decaf oat coffee and a chocolate......
