Very heavy rain fell yesterday from SE Pennsylvania northeast through the mid-Hudson Valley into Vermont. The heaviest rain fell in the Hudson Valley, with 5 to 8 inches reported by observers. Widespread flooding is ongoing.

A 9.37' report on the map this morning (4/7) caught our eye. A observer near St. Charles, LA reported that amount and verifies the radar estimated rainfall for that spot. The radar estimate is actually 10 inches or more to the southeast of the observer.
