With the #EUelections2024 upon us there are plenty of reminders in media and from politicians of the importance of upholding democratic traditions.

Less discussed is how those traditions are being eroded.

Very glad the courts rejected US 'assurances' and Julian #Assange has secured an appeal. With luck, he is starting down a path to freedom. I hope it is a short one. Every day he remains in Belmarsh is an affront to his rights and all of ours. No extradition. Free Assange now.

Today, the UK High Court will decide whether Julian Assange will be extradited to the United States, where he faces imprisonment of up to 175 years.

We are outside the court to say loud and clear: journalism is not a crime.

The Irish government should have suspended US military flights through Shannon during the Afghanistan War. They should have done it during the Iraq War, the bombing of Libya, the wars in Syria, Yemen & Ukraine. For god's sake, can they do finally do it during the Gaza genocide?
