On 24.2.24 at Golant Village Hall 1pm, British Trust for Ornithology in Cornwall are hosting an afternoon about surveying wildlife in your garden for BTO Garden BirdWatch and Nesting Neighbours. Come along and learn to survey for the weekly BTO Garden BirdWatch. No booking needed, the event is free although donations are welcome

Also, during my visit to Truro I visited Waterstones and walked out with four species monographs by Stephen Moss . Looking forward to reading these.
a lovely time Truro Cathedral today for the Wildlife Photography exhibition. Also here is the Gaia on it's world tour, a very impressive globe spinning on its axis. The painting was in the Gaia Earth Artwork exhibition and reminded me of the work of Hannah Bourne-Taylor .
Wow, just had a brand new species for my BTO Garden BirdWatch survey - Grey Heron by the pond. Should I be excited or worried. 😳

With a 40% decline (1995-2020), the Kestrel is Amber listed. Now is the best time of year to see them, see calendar wheel below. Two birds both ringed in the Highlands have been found dead in Cornwall, other birds ringed in Scotland have been found in Russia and Morocco. Cornwall Birds
