In light of the latest ethics scandal involving Samuel Alito, I want to remind you that the “Code of Ethics” announced by SCOTUS last fall changes nothing.

It has no enforcement mechanism and no mechanism for the public to lodge complaints of misconduct.

It's useless.

If SCOTUS is incapable of self policing then it is up to Congress to set clear ethical guidelines with penalties for violating them.

If SCOTUS justices want to control women’s bodies across the country, they should be able to control what flag is flown outside their house.

This latest incident with Justice Alito is just more evidence that we need serious ethics reform to restore trust in the Supreme Court.

Clarence Thomas & Samuel Alito hid accepting shitloads in bribes from GOP billionaires w/ SCOTUS cases, Neil Gorsuch hid selling property to a lawyer w/ SCOTUS cases, John Roberts hid his wife taking millions from law firms w/ SCOTUS cases - but sure they can police themselves.

If you had voted for Al Gore in 2000 we could have had 20 years of not “the most important election of our lifetimes.” Same if you’d voted for Hillary Clinton.

But here we are, for the next 20 years, fighting off an authoritarian takeover until we can flip SCOTUS. Good job.

What Justice Samuel Alito did is beyond disturbing. Chief Justice John Roberts needs to get control of SCOTUS and he must begin with making Alito & Clarence Thomas recuse from any case involving Trump.
