The mechanics of time travel in my story involves physics & some non-traditional theories of time/space travel. Also, black matter (the main 'fuel' for time travel) has consciousness of its own. I tried to make it as easy to understand as I could 😵💫

I don't really. The mechanics aren't hugely important, as the time travel is magical in nature, and magic kind of lets me gloss over details and specifics.

#TimeTravelAuthors stories: you want your reader to suspend their disbelief to accept moving in time. It's impossible, yes, but in a book - why not?
Fiction novels aren't mathematical proofs.
I give 'enough' physics in SCATTERED to think #timetravel could've happened, I hope.

Jim doesn't even understand it, not enough. Which is one of the reasons 𝑤ℎ𝑦 he's stranded in the new timeline.
The reader should grasp enough about the effects to grasp how dire the situation is...

Apart from 'it's a portal to a hundred years in the future,' no. In the second book, Gary gets a few tidbits of information about how the portal was made, but can't really make sense of them.
#TimeTravelAuthors May 21. I typically subscribe to the Flux Capacitor school of time travel mechanics: a vague method that requires little explanation or understanding to drive the plot forward. 'The flux capacitor makes time travel possible.' Great! On to the adventure!
