An American hero has passed.
Clarence E. Sasser died Monday at age 76, according to Congressional Medal of Honor Society.
In 1969, President Nixon presented him with the #MedalOfHonor for his actions as a medical aidman in Vietnam a year prior that you can read about at army.mil/article/276309…
On this day 52 years ago, then-Staff Sgt. Roy P. Benavidez, while assigned to 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) in Vietnam, distinguished himself by conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty. He was awarded the #MedalofHonor . ow.ly/jAa850zuAsP

Battle of New Market Heights Medal of Honor recipient, Sgt. Maj. Milton Holland, 5th USCI, died on this day in 1910. We remember his military service to the United States, and his efforts to make a more perfect Union.
