Finally made it to the Saltee Islands, and they did not disappoint! These islands are of international importance, being home to more than 20,000 breeding seabirds, including puffins, gannets, guillemots, cormorants and manx shearwaters. 🇮🇪 🌊

In other news, had a bimble about in the motherland (Ramsey) eating delicious gelato and watching gannets diving.

The seabird equivalent of B & Q doing great business today as Gannets get down to some serious nest refurbishment.

An amazing two days at Woolston Eyes, with Slavonian Grebe and Gannets on Thursday and a Little Bittern found by Kieron Foster today. Only in sight for five minutes on an inaccessible part of the Reserve but it joins the Gannets as another first for Woolston. Photo by Kieron.

Gannets travel miles in search of fish, soaring with their impressive 2m wingspan. Spending most of their lives at sea, hunting, swimming, & only coming onto land to nest. Watching them up close was simply phenomenal! 🤩🎉

Glorius calm sunny day in Gourock today. Distant views of a couple of Puffins, a couple of dozen Kittiwakes, and some more-often-spotted beasts like Gannets and Bottle-Nosed Dolphins.

A haunting brush with nature
downtown in the avian city
three hundred foot up,
escaping the delicate rains,
nesting, snuggling, mating,
those tender trails across the sky
from cliff to fish laden sea,
avoiding the gannets and razorbills,
but not the long camera lenses.
