Snowy-throated Babbler, Namdapha NP, May 2024. This exquisite and highly range-restricted babbler proved easy to find within a few kilometres of Deban; the hard part is the paperwork and challenging drive involved to access the site!

Swamp Grass Babbler, Guijan/Brahmaputra, May 2024. Essentially endemic to Assam, but with only a couple of accessible river-island sites, this skulking but characterful babbler was easy to locate in the successional grassland of its island home

White-hooded Babbler (็™ฝๅคด้ต™้น›,Gampsorhynchus rufulus), in Yunnan province.
The large head, long tail, and hooked bill make this babbler resemble a shrike that had its head dipped into white paint. โคๅŒ—ไบฌๆœ‹ๅ‹

Common Hawk-Cuckoo (Hierococcyx varius) juvenile, still in the care of Jungle Babbler (Argya striata) parents. This species is a brood parasite of babblers. It was funny to see birds far smaller pampering/feeding this big youngster.

This beauty queenโ€™s first litter turns 9 today. She herself turns 12 in August. Iโ€™ve informed her she must live forever because Iโ€™m not sure I can face life without my right hand woman.
