Steve Albini - musician (Big Black, Rapeman, Flour, Shellac), record producer, audio engineer and music journalist has died at the age of 61. RIP

Steve Albini was a giant. Big Black great, but production (he never called it that) exceptional: Pixies, Nirvana, PJ Harvey, Manics... Nobody made drums sound so ARID. (Also, owned up to his younger self sometimes being a jerk, which is ultra-cool.) R.I.P.

No one ever gave less of a fuck than Steve Albini, no one held us to a higher standard, and no one ever went harder. He will be greatly missed. RIP.
