Rip Steve Albini. One of the most surreal experiences of my life so far. Really a strange couple of days. He was exactly as he comes across - as articulate and no bullshit as anyone could ever be, and effortlessly brilliant at his craft. A real shame.

at the end of our night w steve albini, he came out to start his car, which he had to do by opening the hood & fixing something. every single time. in his mechanics overalls. this guy, a legend, whose desire to not rip off musicians meant he still drove this shitty fucking car 💙
My favorite Steve Albini story is that he recorded Jawbreaker’s 24 Hour Revenge Therapy because he confused them for the band Jawbox, made them record through a toy amp and years later never knew a single one of their songs lmao
