Had a great time exploring Macclesfield Town Council heritage trail with John Kilcoyne. A really interesting walk around the town learning about a thousand years of history from Royal hunting ground to world renowned silk town. Architecture & people's lives from many different eras.

Lovely visit to Macclesfield parkrun with John Kilcoyne today. Another north-west region parkrun UK location. Undulating 3 laps in the sunshine round beautiful South Park passing the band stand, Ryle's Pool, play area & sports pitches. Many thanks to all today's volunteers.

This week's Rachel Roddy Word of Mouth Guardian Feast Spinach and ricotta gnudi.
Easy to make- I rolled my naked balls around in a bowl of semolina. Tasted delicious- perhaps should have had more of the butter & sage to drizzle. Will make these again.

Had an interesting walk around Desford village exploring the Heritage Trail with John Kilcoyne in the sunshine. Lots of local history, information & photographs about the buildings, land & area. Found a Historic England ghost sign too.

Fab morning in the sunshine supporting the Desford Striders Bosworth Half Marathon mile 3 water station with John Kilcoyne & lots of other Market Bosworth Country Park parkrun UK volunteers. Great to see all the runners come through - you were all amazing. Well done everyone!

Had a lovely time exploring the Wilmslow Civic Trust heritage trail with John Kilcoyne in the sunshine today. An interesting walk around the town to see some of the buildings & architecture from different eras. Strolled around The Market Co stalls too.

More Canal & River Trust #OxfordCanal walking with John Kilcoyne from Marston Doles to Willison's Bridge by the HS2 Ltd works. Glorious sunshine - a very rural section today with boats & lots of views across the countryside. Came back through Wormleighton & Priors Hardwick.

Had a great time exploring Royal SutCol TC heritage trail with John Kilcoyne in the sunshine. A really interesting walk around the town learning about the buildings & fabulous architecture from different eras. Called in to the Sutton Coldfield Society of Artists exhibition too.

Fab morning at our NENDY Sutton Park parkrun parkrun UK completing the West Midlands region with John Kilcoyne & my 50th time volunteering as tail walker too. Lovely 1 lap route through the woodland in the country park in the sunshine. Many thanks to all today's volunteers.

Made Rachel Roddy Word of Mouth Guardian Feast Chestnut pasta with mushrooms and herbs
Ground up vacuum packed chestnuts (no flour here) & they worked a treat. Beautiful homemade pasta which was delicious. Used a rolling pin- pasta machine purchase next?

Bank Holiday Monday Canal & River Trust #OxfordCanal walking with John Kilcoyne from Napton on the Hill to Marston Doles. Locks, boats & coffee & cake at Puddleduck café on the way. A stiff climb back to the village church & windmill rewarded with great rural views from the top.

Walked some of the Canal & River Trust Friends of the Cromford Canal #CromfordCanal from Langley Mill to Codnor Park Reservoir with John Kilcoyne. Interesting to see the remaining canal infrastructure. Called in at Sullivan's Coffee Lounge & back via Codnor castle. Lots of lovely rural views.
