Samuel Fitwi finished in 9th place with a PB of 61:33. He broke the qualifying standard for the European Half Marathon Championships in June in Rome by seven seconds.

Daniel Ebenyo wins the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON with 59:30 (unofficial) from Amos Kurgat (59:42) and Isaia Lasoi (59:47).

In the women's race there are two leaders now: Ethiopians Ftaw Zeray and Tekle Muluat passed 15k in 47:10, which is 66:20 pace. Melat Kejeta is in third place with 47:29.

Samuel Fitwi passed 15k as the leading German in 42:58, which is roughly 60:30 pace. There will be no German record. Amanal Petros holds the mark with 60:09.

Daniel Ebenyo has a tough race now, leading alone. He has slowed a bit and passed 15k in 41:35. This would currently point to a 58:28 finishing time and it gets close regarding the course record of 58:42.

Running on his own Daniel Ebenyo has slowed a bit and it might be struggle to break the course of 58:42. Unfortunately the Kenyan was a bit overambitious with an extremely fast first part of the race.

Four women are in the leading group with Ethiopia's Tekle Muluat passing 10k at the front in 31:25, which points to a 66:15 finishing time. Melat Kejeta has lost contact and is five seconds behind.

Daniel Ebenyo's 10k split time is 27:29 and they are now out of world record pace. He is now alone, the pace has dropped out.

Pacemaker Bravin Kiprop and Daniel Ebenyo have covered the past few kilometres slightly slower, they are still on course for a world record though.

Germany's Samuel Fitwi passed 5k in 14:09, he is on course for a German record (60:09) and to break the one hour barrier, but it is very early in the race.

Daniel Ebenyo's 5k split time is 13:28, which is world record pace! Currently this mark stands at 57:31. Ebenyo's pace points towards sub 57:00, which is very, very ambitious.
