It’s Red Dress Day, the National Day of Awareness for MMIWG2S+. Today, we are hanging red dresses at Wabano and in our homes to commemorate those who are missing and lost. It's is a reminder that we must stand together to heal, get justice and ensure no others go missing.

The #OPFFA applauds this #ONGov Doug Ford David Piccini Michael Kerzner for amending the presumptive legislation to include wildland firefighters. #Firefighters including wildland firefighters, face a higher risk of skin cancer due to sun exposure & potential carcinogen exposure.

ON’s firefighters need a gov that recognizes their service & the risks they take every day.

In partnership w OPFFA, we’re introducing stronger protections for 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒:

✅ Reducing service duration to 10 years for skin cancer
✅ Providing WSIB coverage for wildland firefighters

On this #NationalDayofMourning2024 , we reflect on the sacrifices made by fire fighters who have died in the line of duty from cancer and from other causes.
