The Brown Elementary One School One Book event unites the school community through the joy of reading. This year's featured book was Charlotte's Web. Brown hosted a Family Fair Night with a book fair and swap for clothing, books, and toys, uniting the school community.
Congrats Hilliard Darby HS and Washington Elem for joining Hilliard Davidson and Bradley High School in receiving the Purple Star Award from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. This award honors their commitment to supporting military-connected students and families.
Spanish teachers Jamie Krupp Britton Norwich Learning Campus and Katie Speakman Hilliard Davidson joined forces for a unique collaboration. Davidson's SfSS class visited BNLC to read to Spanish-speaking students, sparking excitement and connections through literature.
4th graders Ridgewood Elementary had a virtual adventure exploring the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site. Through the program, they and their families will receive free access to any national park for a year, allowing them to visit over 400 places across the country!
1st & 2nd grade students Alton Darby Creek Campus are collaborating in teams to achieve the shared objective of 'breaking out' by uncovering a secret word! They will earn eggs by completing music activities related to concepts they have been studying, like counting the beats of musical notes.
Blue Kids on the Block, Hilliard Davidson a cappella group, won 1st place at the ICHSA Midwest Semifinals. They received 'Outstanding Soloist' & 'Outstanding Choreography' awards and qualified for the prestigious ICHSA Nationals in New York City. Congrats to the HDV Choral Department!
Newcomer students visited Tolles Career & Technical Center to explore various career opportunities. They toured programs such as criminal justice, mechanics, robotics & engineering, and animal management. The students enjoyed the presentation and are excited to apply to the programs.
5th grade students Hoffman Trails Elem crafted stories around a specific word. They turned these stories into picture books, and shared them with 2nd and 3rd grade classes, spreading joy and inspiration through their storytelling skills.
Congrats to Bradley High School students Maxton Wayt & Aayush Kumar and Hilliard Davidson student Adrian Toland for being recognized as National Merit Finalists at the Board of Education meeting! Special shoutout to Joshua Lance from Davidson for a perfect score on the PSAT!
Several students from Weaver Middle School recently participated in the Ohio Wesleyan University Honor Band Festival. The event attracted national guest conductors and attendees from 60 Ohio schools, providing an enriching experience for all involved.
Evan Blum, a 7th grader from Weaver Middle School, was interviewed for an episode of Inspired Lives, a PBS show featuring his hero, Indy car driver Josef Newgarden.
