Survey work on a local patch revealed an amazing population of Tree Pipits, upwards of 9-10 birds - truly up there with the big boy sites like Cleeve & Leckhampton Hills, if not better. 3 silent birds in long grass in addition to singing bird on territory. Wowzers

Good to see breeding populations of a number of grassland, woodland and scrub indicator species but now need to work out why certain 'expected' birds are absent. Rewarding work

Slimbridge Sightings I was very pleased to hear and then actually see my first ever Grasshopper Warbler at Mid-Piont today. It looked like 2 of them having a reel-off!, even the Bluethroat made a breif appearance. Also Reed Buntings, Sedge/Reed Warblers singing away.
